Hello, is there a way to store dimensions of a part in IFS i.e the length and width of a part?

@boaboaakumar you can accomplish this by defining a Characteristic Template that contains variable Characteristics such as LENGTH, WIDTH, etc. You would then connect the template to an Inventory/Purchase/Sales/Non-Inventory Sales Part and assign the values for each characteristic as required.

Another option is custom fields on the records where you want to have these dimensions stored.

We can enter directly in the Inventory Part / Storage Requirement tab which is the value for the Specific Site (highlighted by a Red Square above)

Or we can define in the Part Level (Not Site specific) by attaching a Capacity Requirement Group in the Storage Requirement Tab as below (Black Square).

Then it will be applied to the part in all the Sites unless the value is overridden in a particular Site as above.

Thank you for your response! I was under the impression this tab was on how to store the part and not necessarily the part’s physical dimensions itself.  I’ll review and see how far I get.

I think the question provided is as clear as possible, but dameenda, have not understood it. Storage requirements define the requirements for part storage, not the part dimensions (this is also stated in IFS documentation). Besides all that, it would be a terrible solution to maintain separate capacity requirement groups for each inventory part that has a unique height, length and depth dimensions.
