We are researching the manual pegging option for pegging shop orders to customer order lines. Does anyone have any feedback regarding the benefits vs. the issues/limitations of using this feature?

This works fine if you want to make sure that certain shop orders are only used for certain customer orders.  It also works best if the shop orders are sized by Lot to the quantity on the customer order line.

You’ll have to complete shop orders partially if you want to distribute large quantity shop orders to multiple customer orders.

If you switch the supply around alot between customer orders or allow new customer orders coming in to take priority over existing ones already pegged, then it becomes problematic with the constant switching.

If you generally operate in a straight line and operated to scheduled orders and new orders go to the back of the line, it can work reasonably well to align supply and demand.

Hi @hmccabe ,

We are beginning to use automatic pegging and manual pegging linking customer orders to shop orders.  We have discovered if manual pegging is used if we change a the date or quantity on the customer order line or shop order the system will not update the opposite side unlike automatic pegging.  Just something to be aware.
