List of Values in IFS10

Hi Community

 

I’m part of a new small data analyst team created within our company and we have been tasked with documenting all LOV’s in IFS 10 and the screens/fields they are used in.

We are focusing on All Part types (Inventory, Sales, Maintenance etc), Customers and Suppliers to begin with, rather than going through each screen, tab and fields manually and writing them all down is there a way of extracting this info directly from IFS?

I have it in my head there must be some links/tables in the background of IFS that show how everything is connected, I may be wrong, but anything has to be better than doing it all manually.

Any help would be appreciated

    Am stating an option that we can use instead of a technical approach. 

    This can be achieved by using the data tracker, which is generated using the scope tool solution. By mapping the processes that you use within your organization to the scope tool preburner, we can then use the file to generate data tracker file. 

    Your current partner for IFS support can help in this regard. All entries that have BDR Or LOV Flag in the data tracker can be filtered . 

     

    Technically it's not something we can get readily as IFS does not work based on Primary key, Secondary key mappings. Never had that kind of dependencies, everything is validated through APIs.

      Thanks for the idea - we are trying to do the same within our organization. The scopetool preburner for 26R1 is what I need to get hold of to map our processes. Do you think our IFS partner might have it?

      IFS aids in providing the scope tool access for every certified scope tool specialist ( through IFS Academy ) 

      While I cannot assure that your partner has ready access to IFS Scope tool, it can requested as an update.  Note there is a per annum per user license cost to be paid to IFS.  All such templates are available within the scope tool repository , including the data tracker generator which is version specific. 

      Note: if you are certified, you may also request the same and get the access to Scope Tool as a Customer. ( Same criteria, certification through the IFS Academy )  

      1. Build the Pre-burner as an input by updating the processes included per Main Process
      2. Import the Pre-burner CSV into IFS Scope tool for your organization
      3. Export the Extended CSV for your finalized scope
      4. Import this into the data tracker generator XLST , to get the data tracker 
      5. Optional: Can also be used to generate the Test tracker ( which can be used for tracking , release updates - slightly an overkill, hence indicated as optional )

      Hint: “Any” Partner would be happy to provide this as a service and mostly done as part of an URA or even a documentation exercise.
