We have a situation where the customer is running in to a system crash for ALL users due to a middleware server data outage when running certain query parameters in the manufacturing visualizer from time to time.

>> How was visualizer designed for and what technical limitations are related to the design

>> What is the best practice and what action could be taken to mitigate a risk of such a system outage by using a query parameters that visualizer was not defined for? A simple typo could cause such an incident.

Hi,

Is it Manufacturing visual planning solution  or Manufacturing visualizer ( IFS EE version)  that this problem do occur? Both solutions are designed handle the dataset queried by the user. So as per my knowledge there is no such upper limit.  But having large data set obviously will slower the performance and also , the charts and graphs will show very small segments that the planner cant work with. Therefore it is not practically useful to have extremely large dataset queried.  The best practice would be to query data set filtered by time with other parameters like work center, part numbers, planner name ect.

If application crashes due to a query that results large data set, then that should probably be investigated more. Please use standard support process for that.,

Hope this helps.
