Issue with Part Revision: A new revision was automatically created when the most recent revision was marked as "phase out."

* New part revisions are being automatically created after the most recent revisions are marked as "phased out."

* Many of the affected parts are components of the mentioned finished goods.

* The issue was especially noticeable between December 15 and 16, 2024, affecting 89 parts.

**Question:**
Is there any adjustment or configuration in the system that automatically triggers changes in the revisions of component parts when changes are made to finished goods?

One process could be a Transfer of new Revision via Engineering Transfer, especially when the Structure Update option in the Site / Manufacturing is set to Restricted

Hello,

The site rules were set to Simplified. According to the IFS Cloud Documentation, it should not automatically generate a new revision if it is in Simplified mode, and the status of the structure is set to Buildable.

So, I’m not sure why it’s being generated automatically if it’s set to Simplified.

When you perform a transfer of an engineering part revision for which there is a Buildable product structure revision alternate, a new structure revision (aka part revision) will always be created

The setting on the site simply controls what changes can be made manually to the information in the Components/Operations in the product structure/routing. Simplified just means you can change the product structure information manually without forcing a new revision to be created.

If the latest Structure Revision is Tentative only the existing one is replaced, that is also happening after the second transfer from engineering, the first revision is never get replaced.
