@ronhu what this is saying is this inventory part, when a component on a shop order, will be issued in a quantity sufficient to satisfy what has been reported up to, and not to exceed, the Lot Size of the shop order. There is no place to define this Lot Size, it is the Lot Size of the shop order.

from what i understand from your comments, this check box is set the limit to the parent part, not the component qty. component will be consumed as much as you can until the shop order lot size is met. 

actually, i would like to control the component consumption, i would like to have a min/ max quantity guidance. do you think which field we could use then?
