Hello team,
I looking to see if there is a way we can configure IFS only issue/backflush material that is in the Work Center’s Inbound location for a shop order?
I’ve tried updating the the Work Center Outside Reserve/Backflush to Not Allowed (this option will not allow shop order reservations until they are moved to Inbound location) and Reserve Only (this option will allow me to reserve from where I would like but does not stop me from issuing material that is not in the inbound locations).
Thanks in advance!
The backflush logic follows a hierarchy, and it’s possible to configure the logic so that it stops after any level. So if you want the logic to stop if enough material is not found on the work center inbound locations, the material must be linked to an operation performed at this work center, and then you set Outside Reserve/Backflush to either Not Allowed or Reserve Allowed.

This logic is well described in the documentation.
Hello Björn,
Thank you for the response.
After some testing and reading the documentation. In all, the setting that would make the most sense for my case is to set the Outside Reserve/Backflush to Reserve Allowed and set the Shared Location setting to No; that way, we can limit reservations to operation material only. Also, by having these settings will allow Shop Order material to be reserved.
However, the gap that I am seeing is that I can still issue the reserved material to the shop order whether it is in an inbound location or not. This gap still applies even if I set the Reserve/Issue From Loc on the Structure or Shop Order as well.
Again, the goal is to restrict material issuances to be done from the Work Center Inbound Locations only, regardless where the material is reserved from. We would like to force the movement of the shop order material reservations to be moved in to the inbound locations in order to be issued.
Inventory Parts are not specific enough to limit where they can be backflushed so we cannot use the Backflush Loc Only from Specified Location.
Can this be done with IFS standard functionality? Or what kind of CRIM would be required to do so? If a CRIM is required, please lay out the details please.
Thank you again!
