Our customer is raising the below question.

Is it possible to have a different cost for a part in different cost sets?

We have several parts that belongs to different structures where we have coming price updates and like to make a simulation of the Total Cost for the parts where they belong.

Is there a method to do this?

Depend on the cost templates you are using.

If you are using P-110 for purchased parts, you can amend the Cost Set Estimated Material Cost (CSEMC) for a particular cost set and that is what IFS uses when you recalc the costs.

So,

  1. Copy Cost Set A to cost Set B. The initial value for CSEMC should come from the inventory part EMC
  2. You can then make changes to the CSEMC without affecting your standard cost (Cost Set
  3. There is also a wizard to make a %age uplift of CSEMC which you filter by different parameters
