Inventory Part DOP setting 24R2

If you create your parts from engineering transfer, the default value can be set from the part transfer template.

​@Björn Hultgren - unfortunately we do not use Engineering parts, we create the inventory parts directly in the inventory part page.

Hi ​@sholmes  Once the Inventory Part is created, you can go to the Inventory Part Planning Data screen and change the Default Supply Type to DOP and then you can go back to the the Inventory Part to update the DOP Connection.

​@Jane Perry - Yes I have found that we can change the data that way, however I’d like to set it to default to Manual as we currently do not use DOP. Would page designer work to set this as a default as there isn’t a basic data setting?

​@Jane Perry - I find the screen Manufacturing Part Attributes is the best page to change this detail as I can use edit all.

Hi ​@sholmes  I’m checking to see if the default value can be changed to ‘Manual DOP’ from ‘Automatic DOP’

Accoring to the help on the DOP Connection - “The value in this field is used as the default value when a customer order is created for a sales part connected to this inventory part.”  The Sales Part would have to have Sourcing Option ‘DOP Order’.

If you’re not using DOP, the default setting of ‘Automatic DOP’ should not affect anything.  I’ll provide an update to your queston as soon as I find out if this can be changed.  Thanks!  Jane
