We are in IFS 10 update 19.  Since going live with the new update, we have encountered an information message:  You cannot modify value if Inventory Part already exists for this part! -  when trying to transfer part revisions for an expense part. The part is at site level already as an expense and is a revision to the part. The original part revision was transferred as an expense so there is no mismatch between the two-part types. We get the message when we are trying to change the part type to Expense from Purchased (raw), we are able to click through it and the part stays transferred as an expense part, but we would like to figure out why we are getting this message.

Since the Part Type in the Engineering Revision Transfers page shows as ‘Purchased (raw)’ this indicates the Part Type on the inventory part is currently Purchased (raw).

What is shown in the Engineering Revision Transfer Actions page for this part number, primarily Part Type and Current Inventory Part type?

The inventory part at site is Expense, when you look at the engineering revision transfer actions page, the part type and current inventory part type is both expense part. As soon as we go to transfer the new revision in Engineering Revision Transfers, we have a template for expense parts that pulls in but the part type shows up Purchased (raw) and when we try and change it to expense it gives up the informational pop up.

This could be a bug as the Part Template for an Expense part should not be defaulted in or able to be selected for a Part Type of Purchased (raw).

Your screenshot shows that the Info Message popup and the Part Type is Purchased (raw), seems you are trying to change from Expense to Purchased (raw). Otherwise, the screenshot should show Part Type Expense because you try to change from Purchased (raw) to Expense.

Looking at the screenshots that is what one would thing but that is not what is actually happening. When we click on the part type and change it to expense the pop up appears and changes the part type back to purchased (raw).
