Hello everyone,

I am experiencing an issue with the package part in Cloud (25R1)

The component part -Qty per assembly is correctly defined on the package part (which is 1), and the UOM ==EA is also correct (all parts). This is not configurable part.

However, when i add the package part to Business opportunity or sales quotation, sometimes all component quantities are recalculated to unexpected values, such as 0.5 or 0.8.

Has anyone experienced the similar behavior? Are there any known causes, configuration settings?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi @chandana.kommineni,

It is important to know when this issue happens. There is an already known product defect which can be seen in KB0092293.

According to that, the system doesn't store qty per assembly on package components. Instead, it stores each component's total quantity. Say;

  1. You change the package line's quantity.

  2. The component total quantities aren't updated (the identified defect).

  3. The next time you open the components screen, qty per assembly is recalculated as the old total divided by the new package quantity.

That's where your numbers might come from:

  • Package qty changed from 1 to 2: component total stays 1, so 1 / 2 = 0.5.

  • Package qty changed from 4 to 5: component total stays 4, so 4 / 5 = 0.8.

It may be the reason why it happens sometimes. Could you please check that?

If that is the case, this is fixed in 26R1.
