IFS Cloud (24R2) Shop Order Operation tracking

All,

 

As a manufacturing business we produce parts that are batch and revision controlled.

This data must be physically seen on the parts produced as they are manufactured via shop orders. If there is only one operation this is simple as a label can be produced at the final operation and the part is booked into stock.

How do other identify track product that has more than one operation as it moves through production from one work centre to another?

Currently we rely on hand written cards and the business wants to move away from this but I can not see a standard way in IFS to produce a label once you report an operation quantity on the shop order. Is this something that IFS can't do as standard or is it a setting that we have not turned on.

    HI ​@Richard Owen - Thanks for this, we are schedule to move to 26R1 in a development enviroment this October. I have reservations that this might be very set up heavy and additional overhead for our business when we are just wanting to be able to identify the box, part, batch and op completed, next op needed as it sits on the shop floor when an operation is reported.

    That it doesn’t currently work with outside operations will impact our business, do you know if it is in the roadmap to work with outside operations in the future? 

    Using the standard lot size as pack size doesn’t make sense as this is linked to the costed production size and not the container size, we have costed batches that can produce 100’s of boxes. 

    Unsure also how having to issue all remaing WIP product before closing a shop order will work when there are multiple machines producing at Op10 going to one machine at Op20, that are all on separate shop orders and therefore batches.
