We have this case.
There are thousands of components placed in thousands of Configuration Structures.
Configuration rules make sure that those components will never be used again. They are considered as obsolete.
But those components are still visible in Costing (main inconvenience) and MRP.
How to clean them up easily?
Creating new Configuration Structure revision for thousands of Parts is not an option.
Also running "Engineering\Structure\Phase Out or Replace Structure Component" one by one is not an option.
It would be possible to change them into 'Not Consumed' by migration job, but this would be helpful in MRP. Costing would still see them because for different reason we have INCLUDE_NOT_CONSUMED = Yes.
Only option that comes to my mind is to create migration job, that will run CONFIG_STRUCTURE_API.Remove_ on selected records (inactive components perhaps).
Any other ideas appreciated.
