I am trying to better understand MRP Action Proposals in IFS. What is its purpose and how does it relate to purchase requisition lines? I work in procurement, and we would like to utilize MRP Action Proposals. Would this be a helpful tool in our field?

Hi dcr,

MRP Action Proposals are set of warnings or information messages that guides inventory part Planners to execute and achieve the demand fulfillment of inventory parts. MRP Action Proposal Workbench is the page available in Navigator to see and execute all action proposals which are generated by the systems during MRP execution.

For example regarding to ‘Purchasing’ in your area MRP will generate messages like below as info messages

  • No Demand Exist
  • Available < Safe Stock
  • Available Covers
  • Ms Phantom
  • Demand is Past Due
  • Negative Projected Onhand
  • Available Qty in Stock < Demand
  • Excess of Orders

Late order or Early order action massages will show where necessary based on the demands based on the required time. Similarly it will also generate action messages based on demand quantity.

Like this there would be number of Action messages to inspect and Planners can take necessary actions based on the business requirement.

Yes, You can refer help topics for further information on this.

Thanks!

Best Regards,

Lakshan

PRODQ,

Thanks for your response. I do have access to the Online help/documentation but have found little to no information on the MRP Action Proposals page. Where else on there can I look to help guide me?
