Forecast based planning for MRP

Hi,

We are looking for a way to create a simple forecast and based on that plan the supplies. The version is IFS Cloud 25R2.

The actual demands (COs) of the finished goods for next 3 months can be taken as firm, however the demands beyond that are unconfirmed so forecasts can be setup. There are components with long lead times so better start planning for those in advance, based on a forecast.

It is understood that Master Scheduling functionalities would come handy in this. The main concern is, moving the business to plan using Master Scheduling is a considerable change of practice, and might not be feasible with the go-live plans at the moment.

Do we have a way to simply enter a forecast in IFS Cloud (not using MS) and plan the rest using MRP ?

Hi Tharindu,Ideally, you will need to use Master Scheduling to handle the forecasting of the top-level parts which will then explode down to create demands for the long lead time components which are planned by MRP.Alternatively, the long lead time components could have safety stock, lot size, order point values planned by IPR (Inventory Planning & Replenishment) based on a forecast at that level. The forecast could come from IFS Demand Planner, bea single Predicted Yearly Quantity value or otherwise be based on historic transactions.I hope this helps.Richard
