Forced serial registration for a component when backflushed
We want to receive labels with serial numbers, but we do not want to register these serial numbers during purchase order receipt or keep them in inventory. The label is only used when a second serial number is required for the end product (as a customer-selectable CTO option).
If this label is included in the product structure/shop order materials, the system should force serial number registration when the part is backflushed / issued into the tracked structure.
With the current part-level serial tracking settings, I cannot find the right solution. Has anyone solved this requirement?

I’m currently using the following settings:
After Delivery Serial Tracking is toggled on
All other serial tracking options are toggled off
This setup works well for receiving items via purchase orders without needing to register serial numbers immediately—which is exactly what I want.
However, my goal is to register, reserve, and add serial numbers to the tracked structure during the shop order process. From what I can tell, it seems I can only add serials-components that have already been registered beforehand.
Is that correct? If so, is there a solution that allows me to perform all three steps—registration, reservation, and structure assignment—at the moment I add the serial to the shop order?
It is possible to register arrival for Serial Tracked parts to a Location other than Picking (e.g., Arrival) even though At Receipt and Issue toggle is selected.
Later using Inventory Parts in Stock, it is possible to enter the corresponding Serial Numbers via the Command “Identify Serials”
Then it should be possible to reserve these Identified Serials to the Shop Order.
@dameenda I followed your process using Receive, not Receive with Serials/lots. But when I try to Identify Serials against a part in an arrival type location, I get the error below.
Does that mean there is no standard solution in IFS Cloud that allows us to stock components at a picking location, then issue them to a shop order, and only register the serial numbers later in the tracked structure?
We do not want to stock these components with a registered serial number; we only want to register the serial number when assembling them into a finished product.
