Some inventory locations are so close to production line that it’s not necessary to pick the parts in advance (they even so need to be reserved, naturally). We’d like to exclude those parts from the picking lists generated by the system. Is there a setup at the warehouse/inventory location level to flag them as “to be excluded from picking list” Thanks for your answer.

For parts that are located close to the production area (floor stock) being picked by the shop floor operator themself I would recomend setting up the Reserve/Issue Method = Backflush on the material line. This means they are excluded in the reservation process, hence also excluded from pick list. Normally it is OK not to reserve these kind of material in advance.
If you really want to reserve this material in advance, you can set Reserve/Issue Method = Reserve and Backflush and instead specify the Inventory Location you want to create the pick list for. So in attached example I have entered Location Group = 30 which is my picking storage. I have connected my floor stock location to location group = 40 so they will not be inlcuded on this pick list.
Still the material needs to be issued, and with this setup the reserved non-picked parts would be backflushed when corresponding operation is reported, or shop order is received
thanks for your fast answer. Very clear. Best regards. Baptiste
