Engineering Part Metadata

Does anyone have a planned schema for setting up Standard Names, Main Groups, and Part Classes as a best practice?  Looking to integrate our PLM system for the first time into IFS (has been a separate application to this point), just curious if anyone can offer your methodology to give me some ideas as I go through the design for our next site.  We are still on V9, and will go live on that version before going to Cloud next year, not sure yet whether that makes a difference, but don’t want to do something now that has to be undone later.
