We have a use case according to following
Customer order is released for a high volume of COL, for example 2000 products. The product is ETO but all has the same BOM revision. The COL’s are connected to project for financial and other reasons and qty for each line is 1. This results in 2000 COL and 2000 DOP Headers and the delivery time for the lines are spread over 12-24 month.
Challenge/Problem:
The Customer Order is released and lines connected to project activities. MS Level 1 cannot be used to create supply for non-DOP parts.
The DOP structure must be created for all DOP’s, if not created = no demand for non-DOP parts.
Please confirm that this is correct, I might missed something:
1. Unreleased CO is a demand and MRP create supply for non-DOP parts (Released for Mtrl Planning enabled)
2. Released CO, DOP Header created, this is a demand but MRP doesn’t create supply for non-DOP Parts
3. Released CO, DOP Header created and Top DOP Created, this is a demand but MRP doesn’t create supply for non-DOP Parts
The site parameter for “Allow MRP Explosion of DOP Parts” is not considered in above cases.
According to the above scenario, we must have released CO and we must create DOP Structure for all 2000 products, to ensure supply of non-DOP parts.
Now the normal use case.
Delivery date change and replanning of production needed.
Date must be changed manually, one by one for 2000 CO lines or DOP Headers, after that Top DOP Date must be updated manually for 2000 DOP Orders, one by one, after that Propagate Date Up-streams must be done for 2000 Top Dop Orders, one by one.
The other normal use case is that a new structure revision is released.
As all DOP Structures are created, update revision must be done for 2000 DOP structures, one by one.
Anybody who has a good solution for this?
Ideas, can the flag “Allow MRP Explosion of DOP Parts” also consider DOP Headers, Top DOP Orders without structure, not MS level 1 only and CRP can be run together with MRP?
In that case, we doesn’t need to create structures for 2000 lines from start and can create structures for coming production planning time fence only.
Can we update Dates for Multiple records, by using offset from existing date?
Can we run standard functions as Update Top Order Date, Propagate Date/Qty and/or change revision for multiple records?
All ideas and solutions in this tricky area is appriciated?
Is there anything in the R&D pipe line to support this or is there a solution in 25R2 I have missed?
