Dear Colleagues,
I would like to ask you for information about the functionality of the field "Buildable Alternate Exists" in the overview task "Engineering Revision Transfer Status" - PDM environment.
The importance of the field setting, what it affects.
Thank you.

Hi @Pavlína R.,

This is an information field to the user. It shows whether there is a “Buildable” alternate already exists for the part.

In this example the flag is set to Yes for this Part No.

In the Product Structure of this Part No, you can see that there is a Buildable alternate.

This helps with identifying whether there is a Buildable alternate already there, before transferring another Eng revision for this part.

Hi;

This supposed to display the availability of a Buildable Structure Alternate for the Part in the Site.

I think this page needs some improvements.

It should show if a buildable structure alternate exists for the Engineering Revision, not just the part number. Here I have a new engineering revision B that has not been transferred (still in Assigned status) but it shows as having a buildable alternate.

I see a part in the original post’s screenshot (14-01-2025-003) that is In Process. It does not have a current inventory part type, but it will be transferred as a Purchased (raw) type but it shows as a Buildable Alternate Exists.

I join to improve the site
When switching to the modification of the record, it is possible to edit (select from the list of values) the field “Buildable Alternate Exists”, even though the field is informative and the changed value of the field will not change after saving - but it is quite confusing.
