database task "Auto Processing Shop Order" not working

This does not seem to be faulty. The documentation states that Offset from Normal Time Span is simply:

The number of days that the system offsets from the shop order release date when determining which shop orders should be processed.

So If my understanding is correct, it is not a hard filter saying "only process shop orders within the next '’14'’ days as in your case.

Many people think:

Offset = 14 → "Only reserve orders due in the next 14 days."

But that's not what it means. A better way to think about it is:

Offset = 14 → "Move the processing calendar 14 days into the future and process anything that would normally be processed by then."

I think the shop order itself is normally identified when the shop order start date falls into the horizon and then the entire order is reserved. But if this is enabled I think it should look at the required date of the individual component lines.

thanks for the reply.  Sounds like it will be difficult to achieve what we need.    We are trying to ensure Shop Orders and customer orders are reserved in priority of the date they are wanted.    Any advise on how to set up the Auto Processing Shop Order database task would be appreciated. 

Issue is as shown below.

 we are running the two strings scheduled data base tasks one to reserve Customer Order parts ( Create Customer Order Reservations) and the second to reserve Shop order materials (Auto Processing Shop Order) .  See schedule below

• The idea is the first task reserves all the CO up to the 1st week from todays date .   
• The Second task then reserves all So orders due in the 1st week. 
• Then the third task is run  which  reserves all the CO up to the 2nd week from todays date and the fourth task then reserves all So orders due in the 2nd week. 
• The following database schedule task then the following weeks up to week 13.

To test this we have set up both CO and SO demand that spans weeks 1 to week 6 inclusive. 

When the scheduled task for week 1 CO runs , as below,

only the demand in  CO lines for the 1st week are reserved.

However  When the scheduled task for week 1 SO runs , as below, all shop orders  materials even that due in week 2 to 6 are reserved.   Please note we have tried the offset as both a negative and a positive number

Do you have any advice on how to set up the Auto Processing of Shop orders so it only picks up the week due?
