Copy Part with revision level intact

I am working with a client with a multi-site setup.  They would like to copy parts from their main manufacturing site to their distribution sites in an ad-hoc manner.   They would like to use the Copy Part function as a starting point.  When doing so, however, to the inventory part in the “To” site is set to revision 1.  Is there a way to transfer over the revision history from the “From” record to the “To” record automatically?  If not corrected manually, the intersite distribution falls apart due to the revision level mis-match.

 

I appreciate any help you could provide.

Hi,

As per the existing solutions, System doesn’t create additional revisions here & instead system fetches the effective revision for the current date for copying structure & routing information.  So a revision 1 will be created in the “To” site as Part revision 1 is created during inventory part insert.

So it seems not possible to transfer revision history using the ‘Copy part’ functionality.
