I am trying to change the following to Discrete Option but it gives me the following error in IFS apps 10

This is the functionality. The user is trying to change the existing master data (CONFIGURATION CHARACTERISTIC) when records (CONFIGURATION SPECIFICATIONS) exist. This is not possible!
