I have a question about family configuration management. 

I would like to know if in IFS, is it possible that we define options that condition the choice of other options? 

 

As an example, supposing that we have 3 configutared parts for a phantom part (upper level) with a family configuration of 3 caracteristics;

 

Color → options value C1 and C2

Size→ options value S1 and S2

Door→ options value D1 and D2

 

Part A→ with characterictics rules C1 and S1 and D1

Part B→ with characterictics rules C2 and S1 and D2

Part C→ with characterictics rules C2 and S2 and D2

 

What i want is, as soon as i choose value C1 for color, IFS do not display me anymore S2 and D2 as values to choose on other caractestics(size and door) in configuration creation menu by noticing that there is no such an option possible.

 

Do not hesitate if my question is not clear enough.

I must have misunderstood your question then since on page 15 of the attachment it talks about sales rules that can be setup to control options shown.

Do you have any ideas why I may not have the sales rules combination menu?

It is most probably due to security issues, so check with your internal team as to if it has been revoked for your role.

I already saw with my internal technical team which even couldn’t find these menus on their own profiles. Could it be a new menu which has been integrated with Version 24 R2 or something?

 

Even so, i don't think that will help me anyway. Because, as far as i understood, these configuration combination menus are designed mostly for getting an output from combination of some values to apply the action on structure.

 

On the other hand, what i am searching is mostly, a simultaneously adaptation of IFS to disable some chooses in terms of characteristics as soon as we choose some others which are not relevant.

This capability has been part of the solution for many years now, and to clarify, it allows you to do the following…

If I have 2 questions, A & B, which each have 3 options, I can set it so that if the answer to Question A is option 1, then I can stop option 1 in question B being shown so that they have to choose either option 2 or option 3. But if the answer to Question A is option 2, then all options in B are shown. And if the answer to Question A is option 3, then I can set it so that only option 3 in Question B is shown.

If you mean “configuration screen” on sales order or DOP by these questions and actions mentioned, this is exactly what i’m looking for.

 

would u mind to show me with an IFS screen how i would be able to set-up this configuration?

Here is the screen you can use, in the example below I remove the options BLACK and SILVER to be chosen when the answer to a previous question was answered SMALL.
