Question

APPS9 vs Cloud

Forum|alt.badge.img+5

Hi All,

We are testing MRP  before we jump to cloud 9. ( plan is to move from Apps 9 to Cloud)

All looks good but we found some of the SO due dates in Apps9 and Cloud 9 varies,.

Steps we took.

  1. mirror both base data  inv/shop orders /customer orders and master data in both environment  Apps9 and Colud.
  2. Run MRP with adding some new Customer orders (both identical in Apps 9 and Cloud)
  3. Check the MRP out put.
  4. 99% MRP out put same in both Apps 9and Cloud
  5. 1% Shop orders Due date  in App9 is much  than Cloud. ( some orders has 2 days some orders has 5 days etc)

I am trying to look for a reason   why there is a difference ?

  1. check master data for all the affected SO  ( manufacturing lead time /Routing etc).. all same in both environment.

No Luck So far , can anyone direct me to get the bottom of the issue int this case?

Hi,

In IFS Cloud, shop order dates are calculated based on the time zone defined for each site. This capability is not available in Apps 9 (Apps 9 had a offset in Site settings so you need to match it to time zone in cloud.) , where time zone differences between sites are not considered during date calculations.

As a result, IFS Cloud can provide more accurate scheduling and lead-time calculations, particularly for inter-site transactions involving sites in different time zones. Therefore, if there is a significant time zone difference between sites, you may notice slight variations in calculated dates, typically by a few days, when comparing Cloud and Apps 9.

Thanks!

Hi @IFSFAN   You could also check the Site setting for Picking Lead Time.  If a Shop Order is created from a Customer Order, the Picking Lead Time would determine dates.  In addition, you can check the Calendars for the Labor Class and the Work Center to ensure they are setup the same.

Thanks!  Jane

@Jane Perry @Lakshan Thiranagama   Hello Both,

Thank you for your time and effort to reply this query.   I have looked all those input you flagged which can cause and change of due date in both version.   my finding is as below .

Apps9 - does not consider manufacturing lead time while creating Safety stock order . it ask immidiately.

Cloud -  Does consider the manufacturing lead time.

Since the cloud does consider the manufacturing lead time due date is different .  So issue is now resolved.

Thank you again.,
