APB scheduling not working

There may be many reasons for this, but one of the most common things to check is whether the operation has a labour class associated with it.

If it does, check that the labour class has a resource. If it doesn’t have a resource, then APB will not be able to schedule the operation.

This is a very familiar situation for a Planner in a dynamic busy production facility.

Unscheduled situation can occur due to various reasons in APB. Since you have set the Maintain Resource Assignment APB will keep the existing  resource assignment for the new schedule action as well. With this setting even though you have enough capacity in other resources system will not consider them for this schedule action.

Calendar unavailability of the assigned resource, resource break assignments or any other available capacity based reason can be checked from Visualizer or Machine load details overview. Finite Materials connected to particular shop order is another constraint you need to check here.

EPST and Need date of the shop order is also considered when scheduling on time or Tardy. Relationships of particular order with other operations also should be checked. (I.e. Preceding/succeeding relationships, DOP, Project connections, Batch Balance IDs.
