Alternate Tool ID

Hello everyone, 

 

What is the purpose of the ‘Alternate Tool ID’ field on the Manufacturing Tool screen? We have tried to use it so that when our main tool is down APB would use the alternate tool ID for scheduling, but we have been unable to get this to work. Additionally, we were wondering if the alternate tool ID could be used for overflow demand (if we need to produce 100 parts could the alternate tool ID be used along with the main tool ID to speed up production)? We are currently on Apps10 UPD12.

Hi @KelseyLewis ,

I don’t think we do have functionality defined for the alternate tool ID other than using this just for an information purpose to know whether any alternate tool is available for the respective tool.

Yes, Alternate Tool is just information ,but not dealing with any planning activities.
