Sort data by measure item in business reporter

Hi all, 

I am having trouble sorting data by measure item in business reporter. Does anyone know if there is a BR functionality that enables you to do so? If not, any good work arounds? Any help would be great, thanks!

Hi @BeaParisB,

You can use a filter in excel to the measure item to sort the values.

Hi @Bhagya Wickramasinghe ,

 

when I tried to make the data a table in excel and sorted the measure item, this did not work. It did not talk to the repeater sorting. Are you sure this works?

Hi @BeaParisB,

Even though you add the filter to the report, once the BR report is rendered it will not display the measure item in the intended sorting order.
Because if you have a repeater, that repeater too has a sorting order. Even if the measure item is added to the repeater, the parent element of the repeater is given priority.



Hence the work around would be to add a filter to the measure item and once the report is rendered manually select the display order in the filter in the report mode.
