How can I partition OOTB Facts on a per day basis in IFS Cloud in the UI

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I am attempting to configure IFS Facts for extraction to our data lake. My goal is to have the facts incrementally load on a per day basis so that the resulting parquet files are created daily and the files have the date appended to the file name. It looks like most of the Facts only have datetime columns. Is there a way to add a date column to the OOTB facts for partitioning? I currently only have access to the IFS cloud user interface.

Hi @Tracy Butler,

There are few steps involved in this. First you need to define a relationship with the fact using Relations for Facts page. Once the relationship is created between the fact and the db object, you can approve that and come back to the Custom Attributes for Facts page and select the new field based on the relationship you defined earlier.

There are few good examples in the documentation as well,
https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/26r2/050_reporting/020_data/020_information_sources/060_custom_objects/010_custom_attr_info_src/020_relations_facts/#source_type_-_expression

If you're using access views to expose data from the information source to the data lake, you may need to recreate those access views so the latest changes are reflected.

Hi @Tracy Butler,

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but you could add custom fields to Facts using Custom Attributes for Facts page and include a TRUNC(SYSDATE) field.

Hi @Himasha Abeywickrama ,

I believe this sounds like what I’d need. When you use this page, do you see a pencil to edit? I think I need to request an elevated access. Thank you so much for the suggestion.
