We have a few reports that have recently been crashing displaying OLE error.

After going through each Server Set Id.

After recreating the Server Set within a new report to test it.   I found that if I had 12 or less Measure Item columns no error was received and data was output.  Out of the 19 DIM_REPORTING_ENTITY.CODE columns that we had it doesn’t matter which 12 DIM_REPORTING_ENTITY.CODE items used, so long as only 12 columns were used then no error, if 13 or more then report crashes with OLE error.

Has anybody come across this, if so, what is the cause?

Thanking you.

Hi @johnw66 ,

What version of Business Reporter are you using?

I can try creating a report in our IFS App 10 UPD 8 environment to see if I observe the same behaviour.

Thank you.

Hi @johnw66 ,

We’ll I haven’t been able to located what information source the DIM_REPORTING_ENTITY.CODE is used.  Do you have a simple Business Reporter file you can attach and I’ll give that a try?

Hi,

You must be using BR client 5.0.15 as you are in UPD8. One of the customers who were having ‘Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action’ error was resolved once they upgraded to BR client 5.0.18. However, the latest version is 5.0.19 so that you may upgrade to the latest.
