Prior an individual was able to open a report without installing IFS Business Reporter.  Now if they open a BR Report it is blank.  Once BR is installed they are able to review the data, so not sure if there is a configuration that I can not seem to find that possibly changed.

Thanks so much for your assistance.

Hi,

You need to save the report after the execution from the report mode. Then it will contain the data.

But if you need to just export as an Excel file to be shared with non-BR users, there is a proper way to it also.

Use Export option in Business Reporter ribbon. Provide File Path to save the report and press OK. It will save a excel file without any connection to BR addin.

Best regards,

Thanks.  This is all good input.  But what we are experiencing is that when you go to grab a report from the Report Archive and try to open it.  It is blank if you don’t have BR installed.  That used to not be the case.

Thanks

Did you check whether IFS Business Reporter Execution Server is used when executing reports with following option checked in earlier situations? This option is used to save a BR report in standard MS Excel file format when ordered through the IFS Business Reporter Execution Server. When the executed report is viewed from the Report Archive it will open as a MS Excel worksheet which will not require IFS
Business Reporter. Hope this might help.

Hi,

Do you have BR Execution Server running in this environment? A report is saved as fully generated report to report archive only if you have BRES is running.

If you are not using BR execution server, the report in Report Archive is not fully generated (rendered) yet. All the data is gathered and attached to the report as structured data. But it needs Business Reporter client to do the processing and rendering. (when BR Execution server is available it takes care of this job)

If you have BRES configured, you should be able to see the output without any issue. Please let me know the version, I will check and let you know.  Also note that, there is a option called Remove Connection to IFS BR when executed through BR executions server, by enabling that you could get the output saved in to Report Archive as a pure Excel file. That’s the right way to do it if you need to share it with non-BR users.
