BR Experts,

Could someone with Business Reporter (BR) knowledge, enlighten us whether this amount of data load and writeback option will be possible in IFS Cloud?

We have a BR report created to capture IFS project forecasts and Overheads (OH), save it to the BR report template and then use the write back option to writeback values to the Business Plan module in IFS.

The report is being run for a particular Company, for one Planning Unit (Code part for the Location - NSW, VIC etc.) and to check All the projects that are available.

Our question is to check whether the below amount of data could be handled within the BR report.

There are around 10 tabs in the Report. Out of which 2 tabs are most significant and handle large number of data.

Tab 1 – For Completed and Current Projects

Company                                   01

Planning Unit                            NSW

No of Projects max approx.  100

Each project is repeating 18 rows. There is a requirement to write back 12 rows in each project.

The business plan is set up for 3 years monthly and 3 years annually. (total duration of business plan 6 years).

i.e. – Data population

There will be around 70,000 cells which need to be populated in the report.

          = (100*18*36) + (100*18*3) = 70,200

= [No. of Projects * data lines repeated * no. of cells (3 years monthly)] * [No. of Projects *                         data lines repeated * no. of cells (3 years annually)]

            Write back.

There will be around 50,000 approx. cells to writeback from BR report to relevant business                     plan in IFS.

            = (100 * 12 * 36) + (100 * 12 * 3) = 46800

= [No. of Projects * data lines writeback * no. of cells (3 years monthly)] * [No. of Projects *                       data lines writeback * no. of cells (3 years annually)]

Tab 2 - OH Tab

In OH Tab, amounts fetch from the values available after GL/IL Import in the Business Plan. There will be amounts for future periods if available in the GL (for 3 years monthly and 3 years annually)

i.e. - Data population

There will be around max. 6,000 cells which need to populate data.

        = 50*12*10

= [No. of OH Accounts as per the relevant Nodes in Accounting Structure * No. Of actual periods             * No. Of cost centres]

         Write back.

There will be around 20,000 approx. cells to writeback to Business Plan

         = 50*39*10

= [No. of OH Accounts as per the relevant Nodes in Accounting Structure. * No. Of periods * No.           Of cost centres]

We need help to check whether the amount of data populated in the report and the amount of data being written back will be possible, for a workable report solution in IFS Cloud.

Thanks in advance.

Sashikala

Hi Sashikala

Business Reporter has the capacity to populate above mentioned data amount. And I have once performed writeback on 40000 cells.

The time taken to writeback vary depending on the number of cells.
Therefore, I recommend you use Modified Writeback instead of Complete Writeback. And if possible, perform writeback in two or three attempts rather than performing writeback on all cells in one go.

Thank You
