After entering search criteria, you have to click on the Search button to run the search. Is there a keyboard shortcut that can be used to run the search without having to click on the button? It would be nice to have a shortcut key since the Enter key will not cause the search to run in Cloud.

Thanks!

Did you try the control + K?

That just opened the Google search bar. Any other suggestions?

Here is what I am trying to do.

  • Enter the search criteria (in this example I am using the Status field).
  • Run the search without clicking on the Search button.

You can [Tab] through until focus is on the Search button and then hit [Enter], but that’s quite clunky.

You cab also click the three vertical dots on your top right and change Search Settings for the page.

You can, e.g., set it to run a search as soon as you enter or change a search criteria (which can be annoying in screens with lots of data), or run the latest or a saved search when you open the page.

Imho, web UIs are good for tables with touch screens and such, but I’ve worked with every IFS Applications version since 98, so the function keys are muscle memory. You have no idea how many times I’ve accidentally reloaded the whole page in IFS Cloud by pressing the old eF5] for new record.

@AussieAnders You have covered almost everything it seems. Good one, thanks !

IMO (as you outlined also) there is no clear alternative to this. If the search is intended for one field that is some how solvable but when you need to set multiple search fields, a short cut is required.

@hmccabe Better enter this as an idea for IFS RnD to consider for future releases. Such a shortcut will save lots of time as it increases the productivity/ efficiency.

I created a Idea for this general UI improvement, because it would be great to avoid the constant clicking on the “search” button.
