The following question was raised at the end of Session 3 of the Lunch & Learn: IFS Cloud New Customer Enablement on 31st July 2025:
As a Cloud-hosted customer, are we responsible for running Oracle index maintenance tasks, even though IFS manages the Cloud infrastructure and the IFS application instances?
Answer: IFS recommends that our customers schedule / run the main Oracle maintenance jobs mentioned in knowledge article provided below. Due to the potentially impactful nature of these jobs if run during times of heavy database activity, IFS has left the scheduling of these jobs to customers, so they can be run during periods of low activity specific to their organisation.
In addition, IFS is responsible for running regular Planned Maintenance activities to maintain the security, reliability, availability and performance of the service.
