Hi community!

Suddenly the Amount Wording (i.e. “One-Thousand Two hunderd eighty”) is no longer printing on our check stock (Laser Check Printing) in Cloud. This appears to be done in the report designer itself and not the REP view data. No one has changed that layout in a long time. We are in IFS Cloud.

The formula the report uses (below) appears to be now yielding a blank - I think. No idea why. Any ideas?  Report Designer is not my favorite piece of software, but I think this is what is failing.

 concat(concat('*****',vldtmath:amountToWords(tns:CHECK_FOOTERS/tns:CHECK_FOOTER/tns:CHECK_AMOUNT,tns:CHECK_FOOTERS/tns:CHECK_FOOTER/tns:LANG_CODE,tns:CHECK_FOOTERS/tns:CHECK_FOOTER/tns:CURRENCY)),'*****')

We had something similar happen in APP10, but I’m sure the Cloud version is similar.

In Report Designer, look at the CONDITION for the field. It’s looking for a VERBAL_STATE=’TRUE’, which is usually a basic data issue.

Test this by either removing the condition, or creating a new field with the same contents, but without the condition, and doing a preview in Report Designer.

To fix the basic data:

Under Payment Basic Data, go into the Payment Basic Documents screen.

Select the appropriate Payment Document Type (Supplier Check) and look at the line with the Document Series ID, like “SUCHECK”, or look at the Check Template line for “LASER”, etc..

On that line, look for the checkbox titled either “Amount in Words” or “Verbal Amount”.

“Verbal Amount” checkbox.

On one of my client’s environments, it’s titled, “Amount in Words” while in another it’s “Verbal Amount”.

My guess is that this got unchecked. Check it, create new checks, and see what happens.

This probably won't work with already generated checks that you reprint from Archive, but should work on checks generated after rechecking.
