Registering Mission & Absence with Overlapping Time on the Same Day

Hi everyone,

We need to register two types of absence for the same employee with overlapping time on the same day. For example, an employee may have a Mission (Business Trip) from 08:00 to 19:00 and, on the same day, submit an Extra Work request from 17:00 to 19:00 — meaning these two entries overlap in the My Absence Calendar.

We would like the system to allow both entries to be registered and displayed simultaneously. My questions are:

  • Has anyone successfully configured this through the Absence Request parameters or the Absence Configuration settings (e.g., absence type grouping, session settings)?
  • If this is not supported out-of-the-box, is there a recommended workaround or configuration change (e.g., custom logic)?

Any guidance or links to relevant documentation would be very much appreciated.

    We have setup something similar to register work hours + travel duration [not the hours] Will it help?

      Thanks for your reply! Could you share a bit more detail on how you set this up? 

      If we wanted to apply the same approach in IFS 10, where exactly in the configuration would we start — is it under Absence Request parameters, Absence Configuration, or elsewhere?

      We're specifically trying to register a Mission (08:00–19:00) together with an Overtime request (17:00–19:00) that overlaps with it, so any detail on how your setup handles overlapping time would be really helpful.

      Well, this is 25R1 and I don't have access to compare to IFS10 unfortunately. 

      First [work hours in the above screenshot] follows the regular time registration project activity setup where the activity is charged. Business trip was just setup as a wage code in hr. 

      To chieve your situation, I think using 2 time registration activities is good. However ‘overlapping’ time need not shown in IFS unless you are using clocking to show employees’exact work hours, I think
