In an effort to fix a Person ID creation error - our HR Department terminated an employee in IFS. After advising them we could not do what they wanted to do as far as the PERSON ID being tied to the same Employee ID on a new person ID.

When we attempt the rehire process we are getting an “overlapping date intervals” error message. In this example the employee was originally hired on 12/09/2024, Terminated on 2/16/25, we are trying to rehire as of 2/17/25 and this is when the error populates

It has been a couple of months so we were not able to delete it.

However I did find where I missed a step. After extending the employment - I was able to go into the employee and remove the Line item for Set Employee Status that was added as a termination. He’s set back to active now.

Hi,

In the screen shot it says “New Hire”… did you really select the option “Reemploy”. But…

Since this is no rehire with a gap I would however use the “Extend employment assistant” instead.

I interpret your problem occured because correct employee number was connected to wrong person ID - and then you can’t connect the same employee ID to another person ID?

If you don’t terminate and don’t do anything else with this employment it is possible to delete the employee completely (in Company under tab Employees) and then run the “New Employment assistant” again for the same employee number. But I guess the problem here was that HR already terminated and created history connected to the employee?

Regards,

Maria
