How to setup employee card number without starting character in the system (Employee card parameters window)

Best answer by Lasanthi Jinadasa

Following need to be done in the Employee card parameter configuration.
For an example – Card number 603322

From 0th character (which is 6) length of 6 characters will be assigned as card number; which is 603322.

6 0 3 3 2 2
[0] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Since the employee card number should be taken from the 0th position we can defined the card data which is derived from 0 – 5 and not 1-6.

Then enter the card number in the employee file, General tab, Card No field as 603322.
With this system will read the card as expected.

@Lasanthi - Thanks for this, however, it only works with Card Driven Execution.  If you leave the In button to open, then it doesn’t do the translation.  I’ve been working with using prox card readers instead of barcodes and it’s been problematic, especially over in the Shop Floor Workbench, the Employee number is not allowed to be in “Card Driven” mode so it doesn’t work.

Any thoughts?  Do you think this should be raised as a case with Support?

Hi Kevin, Yes. Here we focused on Card Driven Execution. Therefore, it is better if you raise a support case for further investigation.
