Hello,

Can someone help me understand

  1. how to add DG Classifications to a DG Id . I’ve defined DG Classifications and they are active, but I seem unable to add them to a Dangerous Goods Id (screenshot below).
  2. Once this is all defined and set up, how to link this to a specific part in the Part Dangerous Goods Information window or where I link it.

Many thanks.

Hi @taenaren

In IFS Cloud DG Classifications are normally connected through the Dangerous Goods Classification structure rather than directly from the DG Classification basic data page.

Register Dangerous Goods General Information - This is used to register the general information pertaining to a dangerous substance used in the organization. This includes information about the substance manufacturer (including manufacturer's name, address, contact details for emergency) and the type of substance as well as other relevant descriptions and values. You can add the various classifications of the substance that should be assessed according to regulations in the Dangerous Goods Classification and a value for each classification in the Value Fie. In order to perform this activity, dangerous goods types are required to be already defined under Dangerous Goods Type.

  • Navigate to:
    Dangerous Goods Classification Basic Data
  • Verify that:
    • Transportation Hazard Class exists
    • Packaging Group exists
    • Proper Shipping Name exists
    • DG Classification Code is Active

Once this is all defined and set up then go to:

  • Part Catalog → Dangerous Goods Classification.
  • Add new record and connect the pre - defined data as per your business requirement.

Thanks Nikila. I got that far. It struck me though that a Part can't be linked to one or more Dangerous I’ll put a comment on the Ideas wall.
