Hi all,

I would like to query via SQL Query Tool page in Cloud?

I could not find the SQL Query Tool page in Cloud, could you share with me the path?

Thanks

Ozge

Hi Ozge, I can't share a url since the domain will differ.

Look for “queries” then you should find it.

@Ozge I think a lot of persons are missing this. It doesn't exist in the Cloud. This is one step from IFS to remove every option to do something with SQL if you are not in the BuildPlace.

Options left open:

  • Use Query Designer
  • Use Quick Report
  • With some additional steps, you might use the Migration Jobs (prepare statement and download results)
  • Ask read access to database, so become user of the BuildPlace

Hi everybody,

I’m right when stating “IFS learned from SAP”?
When I worked for IFS > 20 years ago, the ORACLE - DB was more open, feedback on structures were wellcome and it was easy for - experienced - user to enhance ORACLE performance.
The foundation manager was THE key user on IFS and/or customer site.

Now: Use it or loose it.

My recommendation: Ask for a read only ORACLE login.
Create a LinkedServer-Connection in a MS SQL environment.
Now you can use what every kind of SQL you imagine from the MS SQL side.

Don’t get me wrong:
I’m a big fan of IFS and his hiqh quality in DB-structure (especially when it comes to table and field names) Everyone who came across Baan or JDE know what I mean.
Also the QuickReports are a very good tool. When ready to use.
But an awfull environment to experiment to do research and to discuss with users, colleages and other experts.

Result:
Go testing in MS SQL. Then copy paste your SQL to QR.

HTH
Michael
