MS Import - CALLOFF and PLAN Customer Schedules not feeding MS simultaneously

Hello,

I have a conceptual doubt regarding how CALLOFF and PLAN schedules work together within the Master Scheduling (MS) module in IFS Applications 10.

Current situation:
We are working with Customer Schedules from an automotive customer, which sends two types of documents:

CALLOFF with line type FIR (Delivery Authorized) — short-term firm demand
PLAN with line type VIS/PRE (Delivery Not Authorized) — mid/long-term forecast demand

Both documents are in Released status.

Expected behavior:
Our understanding is that when importing Customer Schedules into MS, both documents should feed the MS as follows:

CALLOFF/FIR → Sub MS Receipt (firm demand)
PLAN/VIS/PRE → Register Forecast (planning demand)

This would give us a complete planning horizon: firm demand in the short term covered by CALLOFF, and forecast demand in the mid/long term covered by PLAN.

Current behavior:
Only the CALLOFF schedule is being imported into the MS. The PLAN document with VIS/PRE lines is not generating any demand in either Sub MS Receipts or Register Forecast.

Tests performed:

We created a test Customer Schedule with type CALLOFF / PRE (Delivery Not Authorized) and this combination was successfully imported into the MS. However, this configuration makes no business sense for our process.
We have tested the following Schedule Type configurations in Customer Schedule Part: Cancellation, Plan, and Both, without achieving the expected result.

Is it possible to have both CALLOFF/FIR and PLAN/VIS feeding the MS simultaneously in IFS Applications 10?
If yes, what is the correct configuration in Customer Schedule Part to achieve this?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi @Juan.Fauda ,

Yes, it is possible in IFS Applications 10 to have both CALLOFF (FIR) and PLAN (VIS/PRE) feeding Master Scheduling simultaneously.

The expected behavior is:

  • CALLOFF/FIR lines are treated as firm demand and generate Sub MS Receipts
  • PLAN/VIS/PRE lines are treated as forecast and should generate entries in Register Forecast

If PLAN schedules are not being imported, the issue is typically related to configuration rather than system limitation. The following areas should be reviewed:

  • Customer Schedule Part setup (Schedule Type = Both)
  • Forecast enablement and forecast consumption settings for the part
  • Proper mapping of VIS/PRE line types to forecast demand
  • Master Scheduling configuration ensuring forecast functionality is active
  • Planning horizon overlap, where CALLOFF may override PLAN

Based on experience, PLAN schedules will only feed MS if forecast handling is correctly configured for the part and system.

We had this issue with a customer on Apps9 - now on Cloud but no customers that send one schedule for FIRM and one for PLAN. The way we had to get around this was to set up another customer address in IFS purely for the PLAN schedule as if both are going to the same address one overwrites the other.

Hope that helps, if you need more info I’ll try and dig it up for you.
