We are seeing MRP Planned demand and unable to trace it back in a concrete way to actual demand. We use the IFS configurator and DOP connect. We are in IFS 10 update 19. We do have some customer orders that are in a released status and the supply code is Invent Order, majority of our orders the supply code is set to DOP Order.

When looking in Inventory Part Availability Planning, the order Ref 4 field relates back to the line that part number is on our configuration structure for the item we configure.  The order ref 1 does not take you anywhere, when you to the MRP Part Information screen, and right click on the MRP Make lines and choose supply/demand details it opens to a blank shop order requisition screen.

All the part numbers that are listed on our configuration structure is creating this MRP Planned Demand, which no actual demand we can find.

Have looked for unconfigured lines in customer orders, shop orders, and DOPs. We took one of the customer orders that all the configured items have a supply code of invent order and left in a planned status and it did not change anything.

Hello,

You aren’t using demand plan server/client by chance are you? Forecasting at all?

We are not using any demand plan server or forecasting.

Did you create the DOP headers for those configured parts? If not, when MRP runs, it will generate requisitions for the maximum BOM.

Do you mean creating DOP headers for the customer order lines that are inventory part supply code?  That we do not do, and the process of having orders with supply code we have been doing for about 2 years and now issues like this before.

The MRP Planned Demand relates to a blank shop requisition because line item 140130 uses planning method P (phantom). MRP maintains this as the source of demand for the components under this even though no true demand object exists.

This scenario is happening for parts that do not have method P as well. As well as there are other parts that are planning method P and this is not occurring on those parts.
