Question

Integration Testing

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hi, I want to develop and test some integrations using the IFS REST interface but do not have an installation to build and test against. Is there a developer sandbox that I may request access to?
Many thanks in advance.

You should have a SANDBOX / TEST instance. Please contact your IFS admin for a list of non-production environments available (you should have at least two). Do you host APPS10 on-prem or cloud?

Note: To access APPS10 projections via INT space, see the API Explorer for the right links. I am having successes with the projections turned with “compatibility mode” ON, and using basic authentication (username and password) with dedicated APPS10 named user IDs. Use POSTMAN to test your HTTP calls.

Hi, many thanks! To clarify, I am not an IFS customer at this point, just a developer looking to test some integrations that I can demonstrate to an IFS customer. I wondered if there was a public / IFS provided instance that I could use for testing (or request one for evaluation).

I don’t think there is a public instance where you can build an integration. You may want to work closely with the prospect of yours, or may work with an authorized ifs partner who is willing to work with you. Good Luck!

Hello;

Software developers can do this. For example, we use IFS Cloud. I develop software integrated with IFS Cloud as follows:

First of all, the relevant Web service is written on IFS. Actually, what you wrote is this API. All settings (IAM Client, permission set...etc) are made to access this API.
Then, using the Rest API, you can develop integrated software using the IDE of your choice (for example, VS Studio).

In EXE versions of IFS:

Software is developed by accessing the DB with OLEDB. But of course, security measures must be taken.

@asahin , Yes, you are correct, it is possible to develop integrations with IFS Applications. But the person asking the question is not an IFS Customer, IFS Employee, nor an IFS Partner. He is looking for an IFS Environment to develop an integration.
