Hi all,

We are working with IFS Applications (version 😎, and I need guidance on how to split a single operation across multiple work centers, based on quantity.

📌 Scenario:

  • We have a shop order with Lot Size = 20.

  • One of the operations is MONTAJ (assembly).

  • We'd like to perform this operation in two different work centers:

    • 13 units in Work Center 555

    • 7 units in Work Center 602

However, here are the limitations I'm facing:

❌ Challenges:

  • I cannot edit the "Qty to Report" field in the Operation tab. It is always set to the full lot size (20)

  • Even if I create two MONTAJ operations manually, each one still expects 20 units instead of 30 and 20.

❓ Questions:

  1. What is the correct way to split an operation across multiple work centers based on quantity?

  2. Can we adjust "Qty to Report" per operation?

  3. Are there any other standard methods or best practices to reflect multi-work-center execution for the same operation?

Any guidance, workaround, or configuration suggestion would be highly appreciated.

There is standard functionality to split the Shop Order Operation. Business users can split a Shop Order Operation and can decide whether to use a different Work Center or a different machine within the same work center. Operation split exactly does the same thing that you need.

Operation Split command is available in the Shop Order/Operation tab and Shop Order Operations screen. Check what commands are available in the RMB context menu.

I am not 100% sure about App8, though attaching IFS Cloud screenshots for your reference.

There is standard functionality to split the Shop Order Operation. Business users can split a Shop Order Operation and can decide whether to use a different Work Center or a different machine within the same work center. Operation split exactly does the same thing that you need.

Operation Split command is available in the Shop Order/Operation tab and Shop Order Operations screen. Check what commands are available in the RMB context menu.

I am not 100% sure about App8, though attaching IFS Cloud screenshots for your reference.

Thank you very much for the detailed response and screenshots.

Unfortunately, we are currently working on IFS Applications 8, and it seems that the "Operation Split" functionality is not available in this version — at least not in the UI.

We have reviewed both the Shop Order and Shop Order Operation screens, but couldn't locate any "Operation Split" option in the context menus or command bars.

It looks like this feature has been introduced in IFS Cloud or App10+, which explains the screenshots you've kindly shared.
