Is there any formal documentation available for these Cache Clear URLs? I checked on docs.ifs.com but couldn't seem to find any mention of them at all.

  • Clear Projection Cache…
    https://<ServerName>:<Port>/main/ifsapplications/projection/ClearCache?METHOD=CLEAR_PROJECTION_CACHE&VALUE=*
  • Clear Client Cache…
    https://<ServerName>:<Port>/main/ifsapplications/web/server/clearmetadatacache?METHOD=CLEAR_CLIENT_LAYOUT_CACHE&VALUE=*
  • Clear Metadata Cache…
    https://<ServerName>:<Port>/main/ifsapplications/web/server/clearmetadatacache
  • Clear Lobby Cache…
    https://<ServerName>:<Port>/main/ifsapplications/web/server/lobby/page/clear-cache

If not, can anyone answer the following questions…

  1. When we use these URL to delete cache data, what is actually deleted?
  2. Is the cache data stored on the users local device, or is it stored on the IFS Server?
  3. Are the cache in question user specific? (i.e. would every user have to clear their own caches, or does one cache refresh effect all users)?
  4. Under what circumstances / how frequently should these Cache refresh's be performed?
  5. Is the above list complete? (i.e. Are there any other cache clear URLs which might be useful?)
  6. Most of these URLs result in a blank page. How can we confirm that the Cache clear actually worked? (e.g. is there any way to check the size of the cache, or a way to view the Cache data directly, so we can ensure it’s empty)?
  7. Clearing the Lobby cache give a message saying “Cache cleared successfully”. Why don’t the other cache clear URLs give a similar message?

Approx. 3 year ago, Yasas Kasthuriarachchi posted about this subject but that thread doesn't really answer my questions.

Thanks in advance,

After more than 2 months, there have been no replies to my question :-(

Maybe an IFS employee could help with this one?
