Customer Credit block only for the active Invoices

You have the option to specify when the credit check can be performed under sales basic data screen.

Thereon you can add the credit control group under your customer

What you want can’t be done with standard functionality. The whole purpose of the credit check functionality is to not allow you release new orders for bad customers - cause you’ll end up with unpaid invoices.

One thing you could think of is to use Allowed Overdue Amopunt - you could estimate the amount of not invoiced orders for a specific customer and update that amount to Allowed Overdue Amount. Then the system will not look at that amount when running the credit check.

You could create a quick report to see open oder amount by customer and then update the Allowed Overdue Amount every now and then → or you could schedule a custom event to do this automatically.

Another posibility would be to initially create your CO with a PAyment Term that is excluded from credit check. Then in the invoice, before printing it change the payment term to one that is considered by credit check:
