Today we use custom tables to track defects, but it seems the NCR module provides everything we are trying to achieve with our custom tables plus more (tracking, reporting, etc.). I’ve been told that NCR’s cannot be connected to an “started” shop order. How and what are users using to track defects on “started” shop orders if the NCR module is not intended for this? If you can use NCR for this, is it common amongst users?

Hi @Cflores ,

You will be able to use the NCR’s even for the Started Shop orders. NCR function is independent of any other business objects in IFS, They can be used irrspective of the status. NCR is also integrated with CAPA  Which helps you to track and close the NC’s. Hope this helps.

You can also consider using MRB for non conformances of the material or product manufactured on  a shop order.

Hi all,

just want to add another question.

Our (BI) customer use NCRs at four “points”.
Purchase: Incoming products.
Manufacturing: produced products and used parts.
Inventory: taking samples on a regular base.
RMAs: Return of our products with customer complaints.

Are there any more “areas” where IFS user out there use NCRs?

Just curious! :-)

@Michael Kaiser I worked with a Customer that was using Audit component in IFS. Basically every year they were conducting an audit amongst various business departments. Whenever they found something the needed to be worked on / improved, they would create an NCR and link it to the Audit.

Hi,

How is possible to force the link beetwen CEP and the operation NO where the non conformty is detected  ?

Today we have CEP linked with MRB in operation n° 00 . because the MRB are created with custom menu MRB from the Shop order header and not the operation line ?
