Hello

Wondering if anyone can help who has been through the same upgrade process? In the next 12-18 months we will be upgrading from IFS APPS10 to IFS Cloud 25R1. Before we begin the process with IFS, is it necessary for our team to become acquainted with the previous product release notes? E.G from 22R1 through to 24R2?

From my understanding there is a lot of material (slides, videos, documentation) so just want to know whether it’s important we capture all of the previous release notes from the other Cloud releases so we can fully understand the differences between APPS10 and IFS Cloud 25R1?

Anyone who has been through the process if you could shed some light that would be great!

Hi @BGPTESSSMITH,

I don't think it is relevant to you knowing about version 22R1-24R2. Just focus your attention and efforts to master 25R1. The evolution from 22R1 was massive, and I telling you because I there since 22R1 and now close to migrate to 25R1.

Thanks,

Gianni Neves

We are currently going through the process as well. As part of the upgrade project we are budgeting time for our S.M.E.s to actually go in and work through their processes. As they do that, they will see the differences between apps 10 and cloud (perhaps with some consultants to answer any big questions that come up). Trying to track every difference from apps 10 - 21R1 as an initial set of differences, then working all the way through to 25R1 seems like less value for time spent than just getting your functional teams into a test environment and making them do some test work.

Give enough time to consolidate and port any modifications you might have in APPS10. 25R1 Cloud does not like SQL code in events (you need a Business Process Automation to replace SQL) and any modifications/extensions you have in APPS 10 need to be reviewed. Also, if there are database integrations in APPS10, you should look at an integration engine to replace those, since there’s no DB access in cloud. Functionally, there are changes, but everything you had standard in APPS10 is still there in 25R1 to work with.

Thanks everyone - so there isn’t a strong need to look at the previous release notes, better to have the team accessing a IFS Cloud environment to see what’s new / different, and then referring to the 25R1 Release notes?
