Hi

We are currently upgrading from IFS 10 UPD22 to IFS Cloud 25R2.

The IFS Cloud upgrade is being carried out as a remote (on-premise) deployment. All servers are hosted within Azure under the organization’s network environment.

While the infrastructure is managed by Azure, the delivery installation and ongoing system administration of IFS are handled internally by the IFS team.

Before ordering a delivery from Build Place, it’s required to set the 'Remote Deployment Service Provider'
Based on the above information what should we set for this value?

Documentation doesn’t describe how this value needs to be set.

Ordering Deliveries - LE Documentation For IFS Cloud

As per the above documentation, there is no impact with setting this value. However, AI generated answers specifies that this value has an impact on the BuildHomes created. Please explain the purpose of setting this value too.

Thanks

Hi @VPPEKANATHI,

The value for Remote Deployment Service Provider in IFS Lifecycle should be set to the service provider responsible for deploying deliveries to the Use Place environment. This typically means the organization that manages or performs the deployment.

It is important to understand that this value is mainly used for Build Place internal reference and tracking purposes. It does not affect how the delivery is generated or installed, and it has no impact on the deployment process itself.

Refer to [Ordering Deliveries - LE Documentation For IFS Cloud] for more information.

In practice, you should simply select or enter the provider that aligns with your setup. The value can also be updated later from Build Place settings if required.
