We need to unpeg a shop order from a customer order line. Following is the scenario. We are unsure how to proceed.

Customer Order A

  • Line 1 was created with supply code of “Shop Order”
  • Shop Order A was created and pegged.

Shop Order A

  • Parts were received and the shop order was closed.
  • The received parts were not used to fulfill Customer Order A  - Line 1.
  • The received parts were used to fulfill Customer Order B - Line 2.
  • Customer Order B - Line 2 was processed and invoiced.

Note: Shop Order A and Customer Order A are both connected to the same project activity.

Customer Order A

  • Line 1 now needs to be fulfilled using parts that are already in inventory.
  • The supply code for that line needs to be changed from “Shop Order” to “Invent Order”.
  • To change the supply code, the line needs to be unpegged from Shop Order A.
  • It cannot be unpegged because Shop Order A is closed.

Questions

  • Is there a way to unpeg Shop Order A from Customer Order A - Line 1?
  • Or is there a way to change the supply code on Customer Order A - Line 1 from “Shop Order” to “Invent Order” without unpegging it?
  • We thought about manually closing Customer Order A - Line 1 and then create a new, duplicate order line with a supply code of “Invent Order”. However, we are unable to manually close Customer Order A - Line 1.

Hello,

We have some times the same problem with DOP/SHOP Orders.
I fix it by doing the unpeg with a custom event, because when something went wrong in closing the shop order, you can’t unpeg anymore the normal way. Normally when the shop order is closed the pegging should be converted into a reservation.
